V roce 1968 tamté~ absolvoval Vyaaí hudební akolu ve varhanních tYídách B. Rutkowského a J. Jargonie. V letech 1970 1972 pokra oval ve studiích na Vysoké hudební akole ve Vídni pod vedením A. Heillera, kde získal diplom se zvláatním ocenním. Je vítzem Národní sout~e staré hudby v Lod~i (1964), Národní varhanní sout~i ve Varaav (1967) a Mezinárodní varhanní sout~i v Norimberku (1972). Koncertoval témY ve vaech evropských zemích, Kanad, USA, Japonsku. Natá í pro polský i zahrani ní rozhlas, televizi a také na hudební nosi e. Je profesorem na Hudební univerzit F. Chopina ve Varaav a také profesorem a vedoucím katedry varhan na Hudební akademii v Krakov. V roce 1996 vedl mistrovské kurzy v Soulu v Ji~ní Koreji. Zasedá v porotách mezinárodních sout~ích v Norimberku, Praze, Manchestru, Beauvais, GdaDsku. Mnoho let je umleckým Yeditelem Festivalu varhanní a komorní hudby v Kamieniu Pomorskim a Lezajsku. <br><br> <A href="festival3.html" title="Back..." class="smenu">&nbsp;< < <&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<small>zpt&nbsp;</small></A> <br><br> <i><b>Józef Serafin</b> <br>was born in Cracow in 1944. In 1968 he graduated from the Cracow Music Academy where he studied organ under B. Rutkowsky and J. Jargon. Between 1970 and 1972 he continued his studies under Prof. A. Heiller at the Hochschule fur Musik in Vienna where he graduated with honours. He was awarded the first prize at the National Competition of Early Music in Lodz (1964), at the National Organ Competition in Warsaw (1967) and at the International Organ Competition in Nurnberg (1972). He has given concerts in almost all European countries, as well as in the USA, Canada and Japan. He has made recordings for Polish and international radio and TV, in addition to a number of CD recordings. Mr. Serafin is a professor of organ at the Frederic Chopin Music University in Warsaw and at the Cracow Music Academy, where he is also a head of the organ department. In 1996, he led master classes in Seoul, South Korea. He has been a member of international competition juries, including those in Nurnberg, Prague, Manchester, Beauvais and GdaDsk.
