Po po áte ních studiích hudby v Boulogne-sur-Mer, kde se v roce 1962 narodil, vstoupil do varhanní tYídy k proslulému Gastonu Litaizovi na konzervatoY v Saint-Maur. V roce 1983 se stal profesorem varhanní hry na Katolickém institutu v PaYí~i, poté vyu oval na konzervatoYi v Remeai a následn po svém bývalém profesoru Litaizovi na konzervatoYi v Saint-Maur. Od roku 1995 je profesorem varhanní hry na Vysoké hudební akole v PaYí~i. Mezi lety 1981 a~ 1985 byl varhaníkem katedrály v Meaux, ve svých 23 letech byl jmenován titulárním varhaníkem chrámu Notre-Dame v PaYí~i, kde posobí dodnes. Jeho varhanní umní jej zavedlo do více ne~ padesáti zemí svta na pti kontinentech. S oblibou na svých koncertech uvádí francouzskou hudbu od baroka po sou asnost a velký prostor vnuje i improvizaci. asto se podílí na premiérách dl soudobých francouzských skladatelo. V roce 2000 uvedl souborné varhanní dílo Oliviera Messiaena na koncertech v PaYí~i, Londýn a New Yorku a následn toto dílo nahrál pro spole nost Deutsche Grammophon. Je spoluautorem knihy  Varhanní dílo O. Messiaena . Jeho diskografie zahrnuje mno~ství titulo pro sólové varhany a také koncerty s orchestrem. Ve Velké Británii obdr~el estné lenství v North and Midland School of Music a v Královském kolegiu varhaníko v Londýn, loni pak na University McGill v Montrealu. V dubnu 2009 jej Americká spole nost varhaníko poctila titulem «Mezinárodní umlec roku». <br><br> <A href="festival1.html" title="Back..." class="smenu">&nbsp;< < <&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<small>zpt&nbsp;</small></A> <br><br> <i><b>Olivier Latry</b> <br>is generally considered to be one of the most distinguished organists of his generation. After his initial music studies in Boulogne-sur-Mers, where he was born in 1962, he started to study organ under G. Litaize at the Conservatoire in Saint-Maur. He became a professor of organ at the Catholic Institute in Paris in 1983, he taught at the Conservatoire in Reims and then he succeeded Litaize at the Conservatoire in Saint-Maur. Since 1995 he has been a professor of organ at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. He was an organist at the Meaux Cathedral between 1981 and 1985. Being 23 years old, he was appointed a titular organist of Notre-Dame in Paris and has held this post since then. His concert career has brought him to more than 50 countries all over the world. He takes pleasure in performing French organ music from Baroque period up to present, together with devoting much attention to improvisation. He frequently premieres works of contemporary French composers. He performed the complete organ works of Olivier Messiaen at the concerts in Paris, London and New York in 2000. Subsequently, he recorded it for Deutsche Grammophon. He is a co-author of the book  Organ music of O. Messiaen . His discography includes a substantial number of solo organ compositions, as well as organ concerts with an orchestra. He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the North and Midland School of Music (2006), of the Royal College of Organists in London (2007) and at the McGill University in Montreal (2010).
